Household finances, without anyone having to keep track

You pay and the expense logs itself. Bills are read from your email. And the app tells you who owes how much to whom before anyone has to argue about it.

How it works

Adding an expense takes three seconds

Tap add, type what it was and how much, and you're done: the month's total and who owes what update themselves. You can dictate on any phone, and on iPhone it logs itself when you pay.

The end-of-month conversation is usually the same: did you already pay this?, how much do I owe you?, was the electricity bill higher or is it just me? It's not a money problem, it's not having the numbers together in one place.

  • Without connecting your bankWe never ask for passwords or access to your accounts.
  • Works offlineYou can still add things, and it syncs when the connection is back.
  • Your data is yoursThey download as a spreadsheet whenever you want.
  • Up to six peoplePartner, family or friends, with or without an account.

The split

Who owes whom, without arguing

Every expense has an owner: you, someone else, or everyone. With two people, the balance is one number. With more, the app works out the fewest transfers so nobody sends money around in circles.

  • Split 50/50, or based on what each person earns
  • A one-off expense can be split differently from the rest
  • Anything left unpaid last month is added automatically

Adding expenses

Adding an expense without it being a chore

People never quit a shared-expenses app because the math is wrong: they quit because entering everything by hand gets tiring. Here, most ways of adding don't make you type a number, and some don't even make you open the app.

  • Pay with your phone and it's logged automatically, with the store and the amount (iPhone or Android)
  • One tap from your home screen and you dictate it: “groceries eighty”
  • Scan the receipt's QR code, or upload your whole bank statement

Groups

Home and trips, kept apart

Your couple's finances don't mix with the trip to Brazil with friends. Each group has its own —its people, its expenses, its split— and you switch between them from the top.

  • Up to six people per household or group, with or without an account
  • Whoever doesn't want to show what they earn, doesn't have to
  • Rent adjusts itself according to the lease you enter

Closing a finished group frees up its spot. Prices are in US dollars. Payments outside Argentina are still being set up: in the meantime, the free version is always available.

Common questions

Do the people I invite pay?

No. You pay per account, not per person: whoever opens it picks the plan, and everyone they add to their households and groups joins free. A family pays once, even with a home and three trips set up.

What happens if I reach my plan's limit?

Nothing is deleted. The app lets you know and won't let you add more households, groups or people until you change plans or close a finished group, which frees up its spot. The limits exist so a plan isn't shared among strangers, not to rush a family.

Does it work if we don't live together?

Yes. A household is for what repeats every month, and a group is for something with a start and an end: a trip, a group gift, a barbecue. You can have both in the same account, with different people in each.

What if the other person doesn't want to install anything?

You can add them anyway: they're included in the split and the math works out, they just don't have an account to log in and look. Whenever they want, they join with the code and see everything from before.

Can the other person see my income?

Only if you want. Income and investments are shared or not individually, and decided per household: it may make sense at home, and not on a trip with friends.

Can I use it on my phone?

Yes, and it installs like an app from the browser — no app store needed. It works offline to look at what you've entered, and syncs when you're back online. With your phone's shortcuts you can add an expense without opening it: on iPhone it logs itself when you pay with Apple Pay.

Do I have to connect my bank account?

No, and on purpose. We don't ask for bank passwords or access to your accounts: expenses come in from what you pay with your phone, bills that arrive by email, the receipt's QR code or the statement you upload yourself. That way nobody but you holds the keys to your money.

What happens if I stop paying?

You can still see everything you've entered and download the spreadsheet anytime. What stops is adding new things, until you renew. Nothing is deleted.

About your data

Each household's data is kept separate from everyone else's: nobody can see yours, not even by mistake.

Bills you upload are read and discarded: the file isn't kept unless you ask to save it as a receipt. If you take a photo, the text is extracted on your own phone and the image never leaves it.

You can download everything you've entered as a spreadsheet whenever you want, and delete your account with all its data, without asking anyone's permission.
